Patty's holiday basket

Patty and I were working on a little side trade around the time of the holiday trade, so I made her this basket. It's a cardboard basket which I decorated in a Christmas Eve theme for her. Acrylics, foam shapes, silver hot glue gun, tissue paper, and lots and lots of glitter! It was a lot of fun to make. Though if I had it to do over, I'd seek out a wooden object, as the time and work invested is a lot for something not so durable. Luckly she's crafty and can fix it if it gets squished in an Xmas box -- LOL! I hope the plasticity of the acrylics gives it some strength so she can use it for years to come. :)

I hope Patty doesn't mind that I went a little 'crafty kitche' on her. I used silver sticks for my hot glue gun and tried placing these foam sleighs over it. Hard to control, but I was mostly happy with the outcome. I wish the glue wasn't so dull and had a little more sparkle to it, however, the basket is not lacking in sparkle. :) What I learned doing this was: the holidays are a GREAT excuse to use lots and lots of glitter! It was a lot of fun along the way.
