Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Sun, January 21, 2007 - 3:36 PMI've been thinking of a trade, now that holidays are done.
What about this - each of us contributes someting - a piece of cloth, thread, gewgaws, what have you - enough for each participant - and these items have to be used in the item we make. Or al least most of them. As well as stuff of your own, of course. This means someone has to agree to be the central collection point, and ship it back out to the others.
This sound good to anyone?

Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Sun, January 21, 2007 - 4:39 PMTo do it the way Pin is suggesting, we'd have to do like a pre-paid box, like with the card trade. They have a priority mail box, but I don't know how much it costs to ship it. I wonder if we'd get people with very different types of materials, like fabric and glass and wood.
I think I'd prefer having a trade partner and sending them things I haven't been able to use and having them make something from that. Has that been done already? It would save on shipping costs as we'd only be sending one person's supply of crafty goodness. .

Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Sun, January 21, 2007 - 6:26 PMI'm up for a new trade, but I don't have a lot of ideas at the moment, well maybe a couple:
I've been wanting to do something with
paper mache or
assemblage(sp?! 3d collage) or
a plush critter or
a photoshop collage
or make a purse
but as far as a theme?
I kind of like the zodiac theme, the idea is growing on me. -

Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Sun, January 21, 2007 - 8:03 PMHi All!
First, I am new here and would like to say hi everyone.
I like the purse idea. I've been wanting to make a purse for a while, but was lacking ideas. Zodiac purse sounds fun, but so does Hometown Purse. A purse that reflects where you grew up!?

Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Sun, January 21, 2007 - 6:37 PMI am up for another trade myself but will wait till someone comes up with what it will be before I commit. I kind of like choosing what i will creat with what I have in stock, And I quickly learned that the cards and paper trades aren't my cup of tea. Not too good at that. I like the zodiac theme also Barbary. -

Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Sun, January 21, 2007 - 6:58 PMI think we all must have had some simultaneous trady urges. I was just thinking about asking for ideas for a new trade.
We have done two "Leftovers Trades" with some nice results. I have to say I was instantly excited about the plushy critter idea. Please keep chiming in with your ideas!

Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Sun, January 21, 2007 - 9:11 PMokay... i think i'm ready for trading again... the holidays are not a good time for me to be trading as they are over run with hecticness at my house...but calm has decended and the christmas tree and ornaments are all packed away ...and since i am back in the sewing room with a vengence i can get some crafty goodies going on the side...

Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Mon, January 22, 2007 - 5:52 AMWhatever you guys decide. I am not sure how I would do a hometown trade, we moved so much when I was a kid, it does kind of account for my eclectic personality though.

Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Mon, January 22, 2007 - 6:49 PMhome town could be where you live now
the zodiac sounds good
Peggys did you turn into an apple? -

Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Tue, January 23, 2007 - 7:46 AMthe purse idea is a good thing... i can make a purse... i haven't carried one in a long time but i am sure i remember what they look like ... he he...
if we do the hometown purse idea would it reflect our home town or our trade partner's home town? -
-
Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Tue, January 23, 2007 - 8:58 AMPerhaps a hometown purse that would have some general appeal? For example, if your hometown is Hershey, PA, you could make a giant Hershey kiss purse, but you could also make a purse in rich chocolately tones.
Please keep your suggestions coming! I can write it up and start a new thread tonight, whatever we decide. -

Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Tue, January 23, 2007 - 12:30 PMI'd say our hometown, as we might not know much about theirs, but maybe I just want to make a snazzy Reno purse! -
-
Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Tue, January 23, 2007 - 3:10 PMA purse trade would be fun and even a hometown but I think it should be our home town not our trade partners home town, only because it would be easier coming up with ideas since we are familiar with home. -

Re: HEY EVERYBODY
Tue, January 23, 2007 - 6:36 PMI agree. Mostly because I doubt anyone knows what the hometown feel of Clarksville, NY (maybe Anne from my descriptions) is.
