This trade is about cleaning out your craft closet and using up those holiday leftovers. You're gonna take that turkey carcass and make soup, mashed potatoes will get baked into bread, and cranberry sauce will become a dessert topping. Heck, they don't even have to be holiday leftovers, just those items you've been meaning to get to.
But here's the catch . . . they won't be your leftovers . . . they will be another vixen's.
1. Message me (Anne) with your intent to participate, mailing address, AND email address by January 19. In addition, please include the basics of what you'll be sending out (ex: yarn, felt, and googley eyes) and your crafting skills (knitting, beading, and paper crafts). I won't spoil the surprise, but I do want to make sure people can work with what they get. Whenever possible, I will pair up vixens so they are trading supplies and completed items with each other.
2. On January 20, receive an address and Tribe name (and profile link) of the person to which you are sending your leftovers.
3. Ship out your supplies. I'm not making any rules about what they might be, but please be considerate. The items should be clean and in good shape. Some examples: paper scraps, photographs, fabric remnants, yarn, beads, trims, buttons, clothing items, stamps, small wooden items, shells, glitter, paint, corks, fake/dried flowers, etc.
***Make sure to include any relevant info about the items as well as your mailing and email address.***
3. Create something fabulous with these treasures.
4. Your additional materials should cost between $0-10.00.
5. Ship the completed project by February 21.
6. Wait for your little lump of crafty leftover goodness to arrive.
Any questions? Message me.

Re: Leftovers Trade
01/11has anyone seen the show craft corner death match, where contestants are given materials and told to create a specific item from them in a timed competiton? the winner then competes with the craft lady of steel; it's hilarious.

Re: Leftovers Trade
01/15oh yes, and did you notice that Ms Smart posted a notice in Crafty Vixens? That was a good idea... Crafty Vixens has had at least 1500 new members since this tribe was spun off... many might not even know what a trade is... time for a discussion/recruitment on Crafty Vixens? -
-
Re: Leftovers Trade
01/16Don't you have to have been a successful trader in the past, to be a Crafty Trader?
I may be moving in the next little while, so things are a bit unsettled, I won't be in this trade :( -
-
Re: Leftovers Trade
01/16yeah, but it is hard to be a successful trader if there are no trades you can join... catch-22? -
-
Re: Leftovers Trade
01/16Yes, I was just going to bring that up.
I have a couple requests to join from folks who haven't traded before. How do people feel? Should we let folks in as long as they agree to the rules. Then if they fink out, it's grounds for being removed from the tribe? I don't have a really strong opinion on this, but I want to see what most people are thinking. -
-
This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Leftovers Trade
01/16Well, it's not like the previous trade rule actually weeded out everyone who wouldn't follow through... So, why not? -
-
Re: Leftovers Trade
01/16Yeah, I'm inclined that way too. Anyone else want to weigh in? -
-
Re: Leftovers Trade

Re: Leftovers Trade
01/16This one it is a bit different, if you want something you actually have to send craft goodies to be made over.... so, no sendeee no geteeee - maybe a good time for new members! -
-
Re: Leftovers Trade
01/16Okay, I'll edit the tribe description a bit and accept the new requests to join. Woo hoo! The more the merrier! -
