Inspiration Trade!
When I craft, I often get little phrases stuck in my head "where did they go on vacation?," "green fish scales," "Happy Anniversary!" I was thinking, wouldn't it be interesting to hear what words swirl around in other people's heads?
So, gather a little smattering of words together. They can be a few sentences, rhyming, nonsensical, or anything you please. Submit them with your message telling me you'd like to participate. Later, you'll receive another vixen's words of inspiration. These words are meant to be an inspiration, a starting point, but not a part of the final project. For example, I might receive the words "the leaves rush and rustle in the cold wind" and knit a scarf to keep out the cold, or bind a mini-book full of drawings of trees, or make a necklace from painted wooden beads. I would try and avoid simply making something that included those words in the end result. But if the words really speak to you, then go forth!
1. Message me (Anne) with your wonderful words, intent to participate, mailing address, AND email address by June 9.
2. On June 11, receive the words, address and Tribe name (and profile link) of the person to which you are sending your item.
3. Ponder their words and what they conjure up for you. Does a literal interpretation spring into mind? or does it start a train of thought leading elsewhere? Are you sending back a reply? an answer? a question? a punchline?
4. Your materials should cost between $0-10.00.
5. Ship it to the address you've been given by June 30.
6. Wait for your little lump of crafty goodness to arrive.
Any questions? Message me.

Re: Inspiration Trade
06/19So, I just finished my Inspiration Trade crafty project and I have 2 questions:
1 - I assume it is okay to ship it off before the June 30th deadline -but thought I would ask.
And
2 - is it normal to want to keep your craft designated to trade? :-)
It has been a while since my glue gun and I have had a chance to play, and although I know that I have to get more refined with my gluing, I really like my project! I wanna make one for me now!
I hope that is not too wierd sounding!

Re: Inspiration Trade
06/19And of course I hope it is well recieved at its destination... -
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/19I'm glad I have until the 30th! I was thinking it was due by the 25th for some reason. I'm well underway, but had a..technical difficulty.. to deal with. I'm excited about my project and should be shipping on time!
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/19Absolutely normal. Feel free to ship your goodies off early. I always take photos of my trade items, I want something to remember them by. Plus, if it's a fabulous craft, you'll want to remember how you did it. -
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/19And you will want to have a record of it in your portfolio, even if you don't think you will ever need a portfolio. I have so many quilts that I gave away and don't have pictures of and regret not taking a picture first. -
-
This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/20Peggy said"And you will want to have a record of it in your portfolio..."
Did that for sure - with my day job being custom sewing and there being so many fun outfits I make for people, I have tried to get into the habit of taking pics before the tiems leave my place!
-

Re: Inspiration Trade
06/22How are things going? Everyone ready to ship in a week or so (other than those who've emailed me)?
Is it just me, or has this been a crazy week? Hope ya'll are doing well! -
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/22crazy ass week - not feeling well, angry, today, this afternoon there is calm again, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/22Crazy week, that included a baby bird rescue and my dad's angioplasty. Freakin' hot here too. (why I am surprised by heat in a desert I don't know). Project is mostly done. Having some mid project doubts and fighting the urge to start all over. Regardless of my general wackiness it'll be shipped on the 30th.
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/23Mine is just about through the initial drying phase, then there is painting to do! I've got some hours to put into it this weekend, but should be ready by the 30th, provided it is dry enough to ship. -
-
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/23I've got some drying time and since I'm in the desert, too and it's freakin' hot, that shouldn't be a problem. I won't ship early, prob'ly, but should be on time. I've got something to make today for my mother-in-law's retirement, but I can work on my trade, too!
-
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/25I'll be ready early this week to ship... I have to say this is one of the most enjoyable projects I've worked on.

Re: Inspiration Trade
06/23
I'm torn between two ideas, so I've been working on both. If I can get the req'd equipment for one of them, then my unlucky recepient is going to get *two* Inspiration projects. Yipes.
-
-
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/23I am telling you, I like those 2 fers, my first trade was like that.
-
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/23I'm such a crack head - where in the world did i get the idea that the ship date was the 24th???? I'm for sure breathing a sigh of relief - I was ready to pull a all nighter - I'm gonna change my screen name to just plain stupid :) -
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/25Karen yer not stupid! You just have crafts on the brain! Regular mundane facts(like dates) get pushed to the side by patterns and images and glitter and shiney little doo-dads.
By the way i am done! Yee haw! I'll ship it out Monday as long as I don't get distracted on the way to the post office. haha -
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/25I just had a very crafty afternoon (and evening). I'm glad to hear everyone is well on their way. -
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/26Mine is packaged, and ready to ship to Mouse, but I won't make it to the post office till tomorrow. I love sending presents to someone else on my birthday! -
-
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/26Mailed mine today. I LOVE packing peanuts. They just scream "You're getting a GIFT!" .
If packing peanuts scream. If they could scream. Probably a packing peanut would just nudge the next-in-line peanut and grin. Or that's what I picture peanuts doing.
OK. Too much time with the shellac. -
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/26i had a "cat gets in the paint" type tragedy last night and will be reconstructing sayta's giftie this week. may be a bit late but it will arrive asap. -
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/26Those things happen. I am surprised I haven't had a "bird ate my craft item" yet... She's so good at that.
Thanks, Anne!

Re: Inspiration Trade
06/28Okay, I mailed off my package of crafty goodness to Barbara just now. I will have to say that I really like what I made (I hope Barbara does) and that I would probably never have made it without Barbara's words. Barbara when you get it let me know and I will post a pic, even if you are not at home!! -
-
Re: Inspiration Trade
06/28ditto Peggy, am not at home but have internet access and the pic of the crafty I sent you. Although not a great picture, if you can take one with out a solar flare in the middle(its a bit shiney) let me know and you can post yours.
