Okay, the next trade might be spine-tingling, bone-shaking, or just plain autumnal. It's a Crafty Halloween Trade!

What does October 31st mean to you? Fabulous decorations? Kooky costumes? A time to reflect on your mortality? The cycle of the seasons? Whatever the case may be, it's a good excuse to get crafty.

Here's the deal:
1. Message me (Anne) with your intent to participate, mailing address, AND email address by September 25. No email address, no swap-a-ramma-ding-dong!
2. On September 26 receive an address and Tribe name (and profile link) of the person to which you are sending your item.
3. Create something spooktacular (I apologize for the overuse of this word, I can't help it!).
4. Your materials should cost between $0-10.00.
5. Ship it to the address you've been given by October 14.
6. Wait for your little lump of Halloween goodness to arrive.
7. No one gets left out, if you cannot complete your trade, email me (Anne) and I will make sure that your addressee receives a trade item.

Happy Hallooooooooooooween!

  • How's our ghastly trade going?
Are the creative spirits with everyone as they conjure up bootiful crafty item for trade?
What a fun time of year!
    • Hey Spanker!

Thank you so much for the beautfiul bundle of spooky goodies! I love the beautiful tiled tin, and all the goodies inside are so great, too! I can't believe you made those address labels! How cool is that?! And I love the gummy fangs, kitty, and spiders, too!

It is a great and thoughtful gift, and brightened up my weekend! Oh yeah, I love the stationary, too. Is that "Nightmare Before Christmas"? I'll be posting a picture of all this cool stuff this morning.

      Thanks again, Leah! You rock!
    • My trade is coming along. It is for you, Ms. Smart! I am hoping you are a girl somewhat close to my own heart (hehe).
      • Zeldaloo,
I got my awesome package in the mail a few days ago. My three year old and I opened it together and were really happy.. She claimed the coloring book and crayons right away and we have been playing with the dolls you made. I was so happy. I was having a horrid day, and you cheered me right up. I love my treats.. Thank you so much. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I get so enthusiastic this time of year.

        Anne,
I need to do one more finishing touch on your present, but it should be in the mail by Friday the latest.

        Cheers,
        DV

    • Yay!! Although mebbe you shouldn't ship it till Stormy gets her giftie, I need to do penance for being soooo late. Which reminds me...Stormy, do you like hearts? I made some uber cute leather armbands this weekend, all with a heart theme. I know it's not too scary, but tey are nice and don't suck like the purse I made you.
      • Okay I checked out the fabulous avatar and now pledge my deepest love for you Ms!! What an awsome job you did, can't wait to get on my other computer and add it to my pics. Thank you soo very much!!

    • DV, thanks for the awesome bag of Halloweenie goodness!

I know of a certain 5 year old who will be psyched to help me play with all the toys and candy!
      • I am so very happy you liked your presents.. I made a bag very similar to it for my daughter's trick or treat bag. She helped me pick out both the faric and the candy and toys.. Kids are the greatest, aren't they.

  • I got my gift today from Anne! It is colorful tissue paper rectangles with Halloween cutouts attached to a piece of string to decorate a room, and a beautiful handmade card.
    Thanks, Anne!
  • I am still waiting for mine. I think the post office may have lost it. Ugh. I will try to go there this week and see if they are holding it hostage.
    • Niki - Morticia - I am done with your items and I am mailing them tomorrow. Sorry for the lateness - but I was having so much fun making these - I hope you like them.
      hugs - kashmir
    • Spanker--I am devastatingly sorry. First attempt failed, and them some family business held it up. It will not be a halloween trade, but something will come!. I will be a more responsible trader and not sign up for the next one. Please please please don't be mad or sad. I will let you know when it goes, so you know when to look.
      your embarrassed friend yessica
      • Oh, I hope everything is okay. I will look forward to it as a Yule gift then.
        • Spanker--
Yes, everything okay. Thank you for your concern & sorry again for delay. IT IS IN THE MAIL. Exactly one month late. Should be there in two or three days. Should fit in your mailbox (8x6 inch manila-type envelope). Please enjoy & be well,
          Yessica
          • Hooray! Does that mean everyone is accounted for?
            • No!!! I am sorry to say that I mailed my gift for Niki and she never received it : (
The post office pretty much said I had no recourse, that I should've insured it etc.
I am sooo sorry Niki - I really wanted you to have the masks I made. I took pics of them the morning I sent them away and not they are all that's left. I'm really sorry. The postal service sucks so bad.
Next time I will send it ups - from my workplace.
      • I GOT IT!!! Those are really fabulous stamps? silk-screens? Did you make them yourself?
Thanks SOOO much. I love it.
        • Kashmir and Niki, I'm so sorry to hear about the lost items. What would you ladies like to do? Kashmir, please post your photos anyway, we want to see what cool stuff you made! Do you want to send replacement items, or should I?

When this is wrapped up, I'll be posting the next trade. Woo hoo!
          • Hi Anne and Niki - I would like to replace them if that's ok. I had so much fun and inspiration while making them, and I'm just sad that it didn't go that well. If it's still cool with you Niki - I'd like to make you more. I'll post pics of them anyway - I'm glad I at least that I took pics - enjoy!
            Kashmir
        • Yay Spanker--Glad you like. Those are silkscreens on handmade paper. I drew the designs (copies of classic labyrinths), burned the screens & printed them at the Mission Cultural Center in SF. Paper is from Thailand I think (I bought, didn't make).

          Use in good health,
          your yessica
