HOW TO PARTICIPATE (please read carefully):

1. Tribe Message me (Peggy) with your mailing address, and email address by Sept 15th. If I do not receive those two pieces of information via tribe message, you won't be signed up.

2. On Sept 17th, receive the mailing address, Tribe name and profile link of the person to which you are sending your item.

3. Think tiny, any type of craft but your trade item must be between 1" and 3" in all proportions, no bigger. Try to get to know your trade partner and their tastes. Then, let your creative imagination run with it!!

4. Your materials should cost between $0-10.00.

5. Ship it to the address you've been given by Oct 17th. If you are having life difficulties and don't think you will be able to ship in time, please communicate this to your trade partner.

6. Wait for your little lump of crafty goodness to arrive.

Have fun everyone, pm me with questions/problems!!

  • I am going to have make something differnet than what I had started on...
I don't think my trade partner would like it, darn it.

Oh well, what would she like?!!?!?!?!
    • Gee cannot imagine why your partner wouldn't like what you have in mine. I thing just the idea of someone taking the time to make something for you is special.
      • Yes, but when you review someones profile, a distinct style comes to mind.
        Everyone is differnet.
Things are not the same to all people.
I gift to the indiviual, what I think they would like.
What I started making would not go over big with my partner, I can tell.
So I am currently rethinking what I could make her that she would like.
I don't gift, "one gift fits all"

        ?!?!?!?!
        • yes I know what you mean. I always start jumping the gun. But the whole thing goes smoother once I know a bit about the person I'm giving for.

This is great therapy by the way. My Grandma who did tons of crafts just passed away. After recently seeing some of her creations that I'd never seen before, I am looking forward to crafting something tiny and precious!
          • I agree, Ms. S. My husband asked me, "Don't you have something already made you can use?" That's not the point! The point is to make something FOR someone. That's the fun! Sometimes a challenge, when the person doesn't have a lot on their profiles, so get stuff up there, all you folks with one picture in your profile! Inquiring craters want to know you!
            • Inquiring craters? I like that.
Glad you're not going to give me that thing you made five years ago, not sure you like it, and don't know what to do with it.
I'm gathering my supplies....inspiration is coming....mad sketchbook sketching and noting! So many ideas! hmmm. hmm hmmm!
              • Oh, where's my editing bear when I need him? Drinking gin, no doubt!
                • that gilbert!
                  • This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
I'm almost done with my trade items! I may have gone beyond the 3" minimum by a hair or two, but I'm happy with what I've wrought.
                    • oh gosh Kathleen I love what I made you so much, I almost want to keep it for myself!! I'd make another but I doubt it would lack the spontenaety and charm that came out in yours.

I have just a few details, I need to have some other artsy folk give me some feedback on some finishing touches.

This is so fun...if it weren't for this trade, I wouldn't be working in this medium. Also I find that when making something for a particular person, new things happen that never would if you were making it just for the sake of making it. Thanks Kathleen for the inspiration!
  • currently working on mine
    a little every night
    ou la la
    • Mine for Fang is DANG cute! I can't keep it! It's WAAAAY too Fang! Needs some finishing touches, then it should be out the door! I may not get to the post office until Tuesday, but it'll go out then fo sho! What a fun trade!
      • You must have gotten there early, because here she is, and it's Tuesday! Did you take a picture to post? If not, I will.... I want to share her wonderfulness with all. She's a little piratey figurine, all plump and purple, red and black clad. She hangs from a purple satin ribbon, of course.

I can't believe it. SO amazing! Her little butt is the cutest, and her boots!

I have not gotten yours out the door yet. My sister and nephew were here since Thursday, we had not a moment to spare. Will wants to photograph it, but I don't think he'll get time to do it...I hope to package it up and send it in the next few days. (of course I will photograph it if he doesn't get a chance, he just thought he could do a better job capturing some of the details with his tripod and all.)

Oh now where shall I hang her?
