The Repurposing Trade!

This trade is all about reclaiming, reusing, and reinventing. Your crafty mission, if you choose to accept it, is to look for materials with fresh eyes. Is there something you've been collecting for just for the heck of it? Have you always wanted to see what you could make with the fabric from that old tablecloth? What about that pile of wine corks? toothpicks? feathers? scrap fabric? tongue depressors? So, investigate your craft leftovers, recycling bin, local dumpster, good will, etc. and get creative!

1. Message me (Anne) with your intent to participate, mailing address, AND email address by August 18. No email address, no swap-a-ramma-ding-dong!

2. On August 20, receive an address and Tribe name (and profile link) of the person to which you are sending your item.

3. Create something fabulous and reclaimed, reused, or reinvented!

4. Your materials should cost between $0-10.00.

5. Ship it to the address you've been given by September 12.

6. Wait for your little lump of crafty goodness to arrive.

7. No one gets left out, if you cannot complete your trade, email me (Anne) and I will make sure that your addressee receives a package. So simple, so easy, right?

Any questions? Message me.

  • Hi. Count me in. Thanks!
    • Andrea-

Awesome awesome awesome bag you made me. I love it so much. I especially love the ocean scene on the back. I can't wait to use it. and purple is my favorite colour. Simply awesome.

      Lobo-
Yours will be done in about a week or so. I have broken 3 dremel bits trying to make it, so it has proven to be more difficult than previously thought. I shall conquer it though.

      • Lobo-
I finished your gift tonight. After my first two projects backfired, the third one looks decent. I will put it in the mail on Friday.

        • DV!

I feel so lucky that you had your backfires! The bag you made is great.. I go the fashion district frequently, so it is great to wear one-of-a-kind accessories... you know how it is! Now I have an extravagent beaded wool tote, sure to get some attention downtown! I will send any compliments your way! And the bonus hand lotions are yummy! You are too kind! Tx, glad I participated in the trade!

Anne, did you get my rubber band art?
          • I did and I posted a photo! Thank you, they are so funky and cool. I love the colors. They're so pretty I'm going to use them for odds and ends on my sewing table.

I started laughing when I saw them. I have a thing for large rubber bands. I love them and collect them "just in case." Maybe I should store rubber bands in the rubber band pots?
          • I am so glad the package finally arrived. I had so many issues with this trade. All my crafts backfired this month. I am really happy you liked the bag. I thought the beads made a good contrast of whimsy vs. the sterness of wool. Anyways... I am really glad you liked the bag.. This trade for me was chaotic but fun.

  • Thank you so much, Anne! I love the awesome zipper pillow you made. Your seamstress skills are highly impressive!

I posted 2 photos of, one by itself in all its splendor, and one with my Sock Monkey snuggling up to it!

    Thanks again!
