Re: So what's next?
Sun, October 21, 2007 - 2:33 PMI'll keep my husband, thank you. I've just got him trained! LOL!!
The movie trade sounds fun, as do many others. I'm ALWAYS up for a card trade. Four senses sounds fun. Maybe we pick one sense and make something that appeals to that sense. Candy is always fun. I've been sort of wanting to do some kind of food trade, maybe even cookies with the holidays coming up. Lots of fun can be had with cookies!
I'm not much into space or aliens. What's a congratulations trade? -
-
Re: So what's next?
Sun, October 21, 2007 - 3:20 PMou cookies would be good
yes, card trades are always good - nice to use
congratulations trade might be just a boost, a good feeling trade
a "you are special and deserve happiness" trade
the "in case you're having a bad day"
sunshine in the mail

Re: So what's next?
Sun, October 21, 2007 - 6:02 PMI am addicted. Not loads of crafting time, but I love having a reason (excuse) to do it! You name it I am up for it! We could combine something like astrology cookies, or space cards or feel good 4 senses.
-
Re: So what's next?
Sun, November 4, 2007 - 1:10 PMWanna get another trade in before the holidays?
-
-
Re: So what's next?
Sun, November 4, 2007 - 2:50 PMYes, if we can! I wouldn't want to do astrology cookies, but a Feel Good Five Senses Morale Booster would work for me. That COULD be cookies. It could also be a personal, YOU'RE SPECIAL kind of thing and for Ms. Smart, that just might mean something space-themed. I like it! I'll moderate it if we decide to do it! -
-
Re: So what's next?
Sun, November 4, 2007 - 3:21 PMOoh, cookies is kind of an interesting idea. What about sending cookies with a recipe? -
-
Re: So what's next?
Sun, November 4, 2007 - 3:26 PMsounds yummy. one thing to think about is nut allergies...
i dont know if i'll be up for this or not yet, it depends on how much baby prep stuff i can get done. :) -

Re: So what's next?
Sun, November 4, 2007 - 3:31 PMwow nubbees a crafter? did i know that? yay!
I had a hard time pulling off the last one... I want to, but I'm torn...
I'm going to tag along till we know more, then decide. -

Re: So what's next?
Sun, November 4, 2007 - 3:53 PMIn all honesty, I don't think I'd want to do a straight up cookie exchange. Not crafty enough for me! Now, cookies as party of something else, sure. Of course we'd disclose any allergies or dislikes. -
-
Re: So what's next?
Sun, November 4, 2007 - 5:30 PMI can see were edibles might be odd. We could work around a cookie/baking theme and include some of our favorite recipes...but yeah not sure if I am up for a straight up baking trade. I keep threatening to make paper mache something, I could see myself making paper mache baked good ornaments or something to that effect...(I'm just thinking "outloud" here)

Re: So what's next?
Sun, November 4, 2007 - 6:27 PMIt is always a great surprize to see how we all interpret the theme in different ways.
How we each become enlightened and figure it out in our own unique artsy craftsy way.
A cookie exchange is so warm and old fashioned Christmasy but we would need an artsy twist.
Kathleen you be de boss, you name it.
I'm in.
I like you guys.
I like trading with you.
You all have made me such nice things, fun things, happy things.
Thank you! -

Re: So what's next?
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 9:18 AMI like the idea of not necessarily making cookies, but creating something centered around the holidays/cookies/celebration.
I'd be in. -
-
Re: So what's next?
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 9:43 AMI agree with what you guys are getting onto. Cookie or festivity related.
How about cookie receptacles? Barb's tray was inspiring.
A tray, a bowl, a box, to hold cookies, other xmas festive items?
how about wrapping paper, tags, bows, whatever it is that you like to make?
ooh ~ ooh!
wrapping paper trade. much like the card trade, only each person sends enough sheets for all in the trade. Organizer makes mix packs, and sends em out. walla!
Of course we don't all do christmas, so we could sort out that aspect of it if we have some folks who'd like to do it and don't need christmas related stuff. Maybe winter themes.
keep brainstorming... I'm liking all this! -
-
Re: So what's next?
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 5:54 PMwrapping paper sounds good too
how about a money trade?
puppy?
candy bar?
inner child?
outer child?
moon trade?
car trade?
shoe trade?
2008 trade?
hahahaha

Re: So what's next?
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 12:09 PMI really don't like to cook and what if you make something someone is allergic too or if you get something with coconut in it and you don't like coconut - please let's not do cooking
how 'bout trading cards - everyone make one for each person in the trade and send them all with a couple of buxs for postage to the trade leader and then everyone gets one card for each participant???
just an idea - just someone decide!!!!! :) -
-
Re: So what's next?
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 2:31 PMI am going to wait to see what you guys come up with. I am not buch of a baker these days and to be honest don't want much of it in my house. Too tempting!!!!! Paper crafts are not my thing so I feel that I would be doing my trade partner an injustice. I would love a Christmas trade of any kind or if I had someone that didn't do Christmas a winter trade. I guess if the cookie trade is a go I could do maybe a fun Apron either cookie-ish or christmas-ish or something and some recieps. I don't know just thinking out loude sort of!
So I will waint and see what you guys come up with. I am deffinately up for another trade. Love getting the lovely surprises in the mail! -

Re: So what's next?
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 4:47 PMNo cookies please - I've had to make too many lately.
Anything else I'm up for so far... -
-
Re: So what's next?
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 5:57 PMWe did an open Winter Trade last year and I make my own holiday cards, so couldn't use cards. I'm still thinking that for the holidays, we can all use a break from rushing around caring and gifting for others. It's such a stressful time. I'm still liking the idea of a personal de-stress or morale boost trade. It could be different for different people. For some, it might be cookies, for some wrapping paper, if that helps you, for some it could be cards to send.
For me it could be something to have while sitting by the fire: cocoa, scented candles or a blanket or something pretty to hold a candle, or even cookies or chocolate. For someone else, it might be a wrapping kit with homemade tags and paper, bows or what-have you.
How about a Holiday Helper Name Your Own Theme Trade! -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: So what's next?
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 7:24 PMHoliday Helper is whatever helps your holiday, be it cabana boys, or ground beef. So, I'm thinking we each think of something that helps us relax during the holiday season, be it a speedy meal in a box or a box of boys in Speedos. If I'm organizing, send me your Holiday Helper scenario. Don't be too specific, so you helper can have some leeway. I think communication on this one is fine, so anyone in a foody mood can be sure not to send anything offensive to their helpee. Same with scents.
Who's with me??!! -

Re: So what's next?
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 7:25 PMOoo, I like the cabana boys in elf hats!

Re: So what's next?
Tue, November 6, 2007 - 6:56 AMYay!!! Let's give everyone until Sunday to opt in, then I'll give out names and missions!
So, if you're in, pm me with your address, even if you know I have it, plus a brief statement of what would help you relax this holiday season. It could be something to help with Christmas cards ) If you really want cards, say so and I'll pair you with people who can do cards!
For me it would be something to enhance me sitting with my hubby and doggies by the fire. That's all I'd say in my mission statement. We want to keep it open so our trademate can be creative. Trademates can them PM partners and ask if food is okay, allergies, etc. Make sense? Any questions? Wooo! -

XOXO

When do these need to be done by? What are the other rules? -
-
Re: So what's next?
Sat, November 10, 2007 - 8:41 AMThe rules are Nubee can play! YAY!!!! Please play! We'll make it work for you!
The rules are really just that you make something that doesn't cost more that $10 and we're thinking it should arrive sometime before New Year's. If you can't fulfill your promise, contact me and/or your partner to let them know. Life happens, but craftiness will prevail! -

Sat, November 10, 2007 - 8:42 AMOh PM you, I missed that bit somewhere...I'll PM you promptly.
