I may be jumping the gun a bit but.... what are we going to do next???? I've been really really inspired by this last trade - i'm up for anything (almost hehehehe)

I've done 5 trades now (a couple in other tribes) and I've got all my "prizes" on a wall in my craft room. I want more!!!!!! (huge smiley)

Have we ever done a card exchange? We cound make a set of hand made blank cards people can use to send to their friends and family, or keep and frame. Could be in a box. Holiday or not, depending of our preference.

Ooh Kathleen, I like your idea! I am in a major time-crunch with work and assorted other insanities, but I could definitely do a series of cards. What do others think?

ah, you're not the only one!

It would be nice to have one by each artist in the trade... someone could recieve them all, say 10 from each crafty trader...then redistribute them in mixed sets.

            help me brainstorm here...

That's a great idea! Then we'd all have something from EVERYONE!! We'd have to all chip in for postage when we send our cards. Say everyone agrees to send their 10 in a reusable large padded envelope along with something to cover re-shipping to one person, who then redistributes them. Cash would probably be best, in a separate envelope. All purpose or multi-purpose would probably be better than holiday cards, so we can use them throughout the year.

I'd be happy to be the central person on this one, as long as people REALLY try to get their cards to me on time, because no one will get their cards until everyone gets their cards in. So everyone send me their cards and $100 and I go to Mexico to... Okay, just kidding! How much do people think it would reasonable cost to ship 10 cards? $4? $5?

you can send the ten cards in a flat rate envelope from the USPS for $4.05

im pretty sure you can also get prepaid stamps for this too, so what could happen is you send your cards and the stamp to one person, or - you could send your cards, and the flat rate envelope with the stamp already on it. you might have to fold the envelope in half, but the sendee could refirm the envelope up with a piece of cardboard or something.

this sounds like a great trade, i need to make sure i can commit to it because it sounds like a lot of fun!

    I'm in on the cards

    Holiday cards?
    Non-holiday cards?

I did a tribe card exchange before - it was awesome - diverse selection of nice items

It sounds like a cool trade but.... just to play devils advacote for a sec - is this the time of year we want to be committed to a trade of this extent?? What if we have 20 people in the trade - do we each have to make 20 cards??? This trade would end right before thanksgiving - alot of us are starting our holiday projects - even 10 cards might be alot.

I'm up for anything - just want to be sure everyone really thinks about this one. It sounds like it could be the coolest trade ever.

I think a similar arrangement was used in the CV card trade. I vote for non-holiday blank cards, then they could be used for any occasion.

P.S. I can't tell you how excited I am that other vixens are volunteering to moderate trades!

Karen, good thought. Traders should really think before committing. That may keep our numbers around 10. Or we can even limit it to the first 10 who sign up, though that may not be necessary. I'm up for it for sure. It may actually get me geared up to start my own holiday cards. I also vote for non-holiday cards, because all my friends and family expect to get cards made by me!

I think 4$-5$ in cash with a reusable padded envelope sounds good to me. I hesitate to go pre-paid because some people may want to add embellishments or heavier papers, or such that would make the envelope a bit bulkier and heavier. I would hate to hinder the crafty goodness! I do think envelopes should be included with all cards. May sound like a big DUH, but I wanted to be sure. Are we good? Should I post a separate post? YAY! My only trouble will be sending the cards! I have cards made by a friend that he made for me to give, but I kept most of them and framed them! That's great, too, though! Having a small art piece from all my crafty trading friends would be like a mini-gallery! I love it! I think this is a trade we could even do more than once, if some people passed due to the closeness of the holidays.
